2010 Pure Stock Rules

1. Car: American made RWD, front engine car, 108” minimum wheelbase.

2. Engine: Must have V-8 engine, OEM size configuration. 360 cubic inch maximum. Stock engine location, no moving motor back or down same brand as car GM to GM, Ford to Ford. Stock motor mounts in stock locations only.may use solid motor mounts. Flat Top Pistons only. STOCK COMPRESSION MOTORS ONLY. No Performance parts of any kind allowed (STOCK ONLY). Cast iron OEM heads only, no Vortec Heads, no no double hump heads,no305 heads on 350,no cleveland heads on 351.3/8 screw in studs ok ,guide plates ok. No Porting, polishing, milling or altering of any kind. Smooth idle cams only. Stock Cams only. Cast iron exhaust manifolds only no Ram Horn type exhaust allowed. No center dump or LT1 type exhaust. Cast Iron OEM Quadrajet or 2 barrel intakes only, no aluminum intakes. No marine or Bowtie Intakes allowed. No spacers or Adapters allowed. No aftermarket power steering pump allowed. No Aluminum pulleys allowed. Aluminum Radiators Allowed.

3. Carburetor: OEM Carb only. No modification of carburetor. No Aftermarket or Performance Carbs ..will allow #1850-600cfm or Edelbrock 600cfm.. MAY USE CARBURETOR ADAPTER.

4. Ignition: OEM, HEMI or OEM point distributor only with one 12 volt coil.

5. Transmissions: Transmission must remain completely stock. Standard must have all working gears and stock OEM clutch, flywheel and pressure plate. Cast iron bell housing or explosion-proof bellhousing highly recommended. No aluminum or Corvette components. Automatics mush have all working gears with OEM working torque converter. No converters smaller than 11”.

6. Drive Shaft: Must be painted white with loop with in 1 foot of transmission. Must be steel, OEM drive shaft only.

7. Rear End: OEM original type rear end in stock location. Must match make of car. No 9” Ford in Chevy. Gears my be locked, no limited slip no spools, weld only.

8. Body: No gutting of any kind except to allow for door bars, reasonable tire clearance, and under fuel cell for fuel escape. Plastic Nose Piece is OK. No Wedge Noses, No Spoilers or wings allowed.

9. Tires & Wheels: Asphalt take offs only, grooving Ok. 10” maximum steel with minimum 1” OD lug nuts Durometer must be 45 or harder after A feature

10. Drivers Area: Must have a 5 or 6 point safety harness, must be bolted to frame or roll cage. Safety harness must be no more than 2 years old. Steering column in s tock location. Quick release steering wheel OK, no quick steering reducers. 3 vertical bars installed in front of driver minimum 3/8 diameter. Stock master cylinder only with cylinder and pedal in stock location. Firewall and floor pan must remain original and all holes must be covered.

11. Battery: May be moved and must be securely mounted. If in driver’s compartment, must be totally encased.

12. Bumpers: Only OEM stock bumpers front and rear. No extra supports of any kind on or to the bumper.

13. Weight: 3,300 lbs. after race.

14. Brakes: OEM factory original type only. No rear disc unless came from factory. No aftermarket rotors. All 4 brakes must lock up on inspection. No right front shut off allowed. Stock brake master cylinder only.

15. Suspension: Must remain original suspension pieces front and ready and in stock locations. No weight jacks of any kind. No independent rear suspensions. Stock shock in stock location and in stock mounts only. One shock per wheel. no hiem end shocks,may run racing springs with the maximum height being 13 inches  in height ,no mixing of spring heights. No aluminum shocks..racing springs ok, NO ADJUSTABLE SPRING SPACER, MAY USE ONES CUT TO FIT.

16. Fuel: Pump or racing fuel. No alcohol gas. Maximum 22 gallons, securely mounted fuel cell require, with outer shell. Bottom of fuel cell must be set in car on lower than bottom of frame rail.

17. Roll Cage: Six (6) point minimum cage with x-brace. Minimum .095 x 1 ½ tubing. Three (3) drivers side door bars and two (2) passenger side bars are required.

18. General: One driver per car. Points go to the driver, not the car. If someone else is driving the car you are responsible to let the officials know at the sign in gate. Car can only run in one class for the nigh t of racing. CVS reserves the right to change any rule at any time for the betterment or safety of the sport. Age limit is minimum 13 years old with parental release form on file. You must have approval from the track owner to race in this class.
